stepping out of my comfort zone

My comfort zone is the screen that separates Mr. Lovely's house from his backyard.

Usually, I steer away from this big, ferocious beast named, Lucky, because she seems to always be barking at me. I just wave hello and make barking noises to "play" with her behind the screen, without any necessary contacts. This has gone on for at least half a year. Since I've been to Mr. L's house many times, Lucky has gotten used to seeing me as the girl who points at her more than some stranger that lurks around the house and thus has stopped barking at every sightings of me. So, today Mr. L threw peanuts at her because there were no bones left to throw at her and she ate them up eagerly. Then I wanted to throw them at her too to gain her friendship. After awhile, I got so happy that I even stepped outside the house and made her do tricks to win some peanuts. I said, "Sit!" and she did a roll-ever instead. What a quirky dog! I totally dig her now.
