can you sing your way to my heart?

sometimes i wish music can do wonders to me the way it does to many people out there.

i simply do not have the desire to listen to music like many of the ones closest to me. my mom was driving in the car, feeling fascinated with the words that laura branigan was singing, while i was just enjoying the sound of air and noisy breezes. she was telling me how people are listening to mp3's at the gym nowadays, no one listens to walkmans anymore. she then proceeded to show me her mp3 and its many unique functions. then i explained to her how i've never had a passion for exploring the industry of music. i said that it might be because i used to wake up to eerie sounds from my cd-player at the wee hours in the morning. although i recall that the noise was not real, and as hard as i had tried to turn off the music, it wouldn't go away. the music kept on playing in my mind, and i had to tune it out in my mind after many suffocating minutes of feeling fearful. well now, don't think that i try to evade music all the time, it just comes when it comes. i just don't need it to survive and relate my miseries to it. i am quite content with the sound of silence that my books make, my labtop's constant "eeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr," and Mr. Puddle's speechless quackings. Oh, the contemporary beating of my heart beats me sleep, not some lullaby.
